All That Shines

By: Diane Bator

Publisher by: BWL Publishing Inc. (Feb. 9 2021)

All That Shines is Author Diane Bator’s second book in the Glitter Bay Mysteries Series. Book 1, All That Sparkles, the first book in the series, was well received in February, 2019.

A budding playwright and author of several mystery novels, Bator was nominated as an Established Artist of the Year in her community and is a member of the Crime Writers of Canada, Sisters in Crime, Thrillers International and Writers Union of Canada.

I won All That Shines for my participation in a Cosy Mystery Village Author Takeover.

Bator creates a turbulent atmosphere of dissension and deceit with copious characters all vying for attention in her depiction of the chaotic and cutthroat worlds of fashion and relationships. Her protagonist, Sage Miller, struggles to keep her head above the roiling sea of fraud and folly as she and her sister, Laken, an internationally famous fashion model, go all-out to open a new vintage fashion boutique, Vintage Sage.

Sage and Laken, with help from their friends, pull out all the stops to host a grand opening fashion show amidst the mayhem and murder. There is no shortage of suspects with a myriad of motives for the untimely demise of Hollywood fashion designer, Sebastian Hayward the Third.

Diane Bator, is an imaginative storyteller, however, like finger nails scratching on a blackboard I found the number of proofreading miscues irritating. All That Shines could benefit considerably from a Second Set of Eyes. Check out this prolific writer’s following repertoire:
