Fans of noir thrillers and Kalteis' past novels will find much to enjoy in Nobody from Somewhere. This is a gritty, fast paced crime novel of astonishing detail and scope and written by the award winning author of Ride the Lightning and House of Blazes, both Independent Publisher Book Awards medal winners.
Kalteis tells the story of a serendipitous encounter between an ex-cop, Fitch, (I see Clint Eastwood as Fitch as I read) a runaway teenager, and two nasty and inept thugs (a dangerous combination) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Nobody from Somewhere is an account of love lost, love found (In fact, I’m reminded of the old song, “You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You”.), ill-fated circumstances, and bad decisions.
This is a high-octane page turner, populated with well drawn complex and edgy characters up against seemingly impossible odds and authentic sounding dialogue.
Fans of noir crime will not be disappointed.
